Why Was She Punished?- Ameya Pai

Welcome to, TCBMM. This is our first post

She could see her Mother’s hands shivering with fright,
As she had been in those arms for almost the whole night,
Because then she was snatched and strangled against her might,
And since then she has always been out of sight ||

Little did she know that her end was so near,
As she was the youngest and everyone’s cute dear,
And today as her father lights her pyre,
She is just a soul without anybody and attire ||

An Animal had emerged that night which needed to be fed,
Who lost all his mind and had only one thing in his head,
He picked her and raped her till she was pale with no red,
At the end not one but two humans were dead ||

She never knew this world could be so cruel,
And she would be sacrificed to one’s fire as a mere fuel,
For someone’s hunger and grit she had perished,
She never understood why was she punished??

Admin's View: Long story short, women are unsafe everywhere and at every moment, and the sad part is that there is nothing anyone can do about it. But don't despair. There might be no one else to help you, but you can definitely help yourself. So protect yourself, ladies! Protect yourself from that stranger, that relative, the overfriendly acquaintance or even that teacher who makes you uncomfortable with his looks. Because you never know, you never really know!
