We all want a love that consumes us, makes us weak in the knees, and the world cease to exist around them. We want grand gestures like the ones we see in the movies or read in a book. We keep dreaming of a love that makes us a coffee with the exact amount of sugar we like, or watches silly rom-coms with us.
We spend so much of our life dreaming of something so out of our control—like if we think about it enough, we might just manifest it. We wait by the door, hoping someone will walk in. Maybe you will meet love in the bookstore, reaching for the book you can’t, or ordering the same coffee in a cafĂ© you love so much.
Or maybe, just maybe, love walks in on you when you weren’t waiting by the door. You kept the door open and sat, not waiting this time.
That’s when love walks in on us. Love makes us want to shut that door and make the world disappear. Love will make you giggle and kick your feet at 2 a.m., and you look at them and think, this was what you were waiting for—the love that grounds you, holds you so tight there’s no chance you will slip away.
