Authorship Seminar
The department of Mass Media along with the Department of Film Television and New Media Production in association with ‘ The Rotaract Club of Bombay, Kandivali ', organized an ‘Authorship Seminar' on January 9th, 2019.The seminar was headed by Mr. Satish Purohit - a writer, editor, book writing coach and one of the most prominent personality in the publishing industry.
The highlights of seminar were the importance of reading, tips on writing for beginners, storytelling, publishing and much more.
The seminar taught the students about the visual descriptions, preparation of becoming a writer,how to focus when losing eloquence while writing and expressing and depiction of writing. “Writing is not about writing, it is about storytelling” said Mr. Purohit, referring to the effectiveness of writing. The seminar also emphasized on visual description as important factor for both writers and filmmakers.
Mr. Purohit, shared his knowledge about poetries and how it impacts the feelings and the common experience of the reader as well as the poet. “Poets can be so deeply personal that they can be universal,” he said. He gave guidance to students as to how they can become better writers by being keen observers and how they can achieve professionalism in writing. The informative seminar ended on an interactive note with Mr. Purohit answering the questions of the students.
