The Story of Sand

Think of a person, broken from his family, landing in a city of unknowns. There comes a helping hand to mold the stranger to one among them. This offers closeness between the two and the journey starts. As some time passes, life takes turns and examines the strength of the bond. Some tiny ones break and settle there itself in the form of lovely memories. But still, the larger bond helps them embark ahead with deeper understandings. But the tables turn when that helping hand leaves the person on finding someone better or much grander. His life comes to a stagnant poise. All he can do is to witness his once-a-helping hand, holding hand in hand with another. The beautiful naturalization of this untouched tragedy is witnessed in this poem. It depicts the uncertainty of togetherness within the elements of nature. Hope you like it.

Once from the cluster of a cliff,

Igniting its stratum under the sun;

Being washed with drops and sanctified

A stone was peeled off in sudden.

It rolled down on its path to land

As rough now is the story of sand.

Resting on the bank of a joyful stream,

It found its family in thousands alike.

The anger of blues then washed it often

Fostering with care along it's dike.

A precious gray-jewel, as they pretend

Such smooth now is the story of sand.

The love kept to grow between

The pebble and the flowing stream.

The bank approached closer now

It swam along it's shallow brim.

Crossing the fields, where all streams bend

As curvy now is the story of sand.

Some of self that it left behind,

Would keep it alive all its way.

Like candles that burn and dazzle

In the form of mud or clay.

Rich in life is the fertile blend,

Such seminal is the story of sand.

Much smaller now it marries the blues,

Churns itself into its tiniest blob

But the twist, in story and in stream

As the incessant flow ended its job.

It was the moment it poured itself,

Into the mighty arms of the sea

A newly found love, a ditch to the one

That had loved it endlessly.

Now settled at shore, It watches them hand in hand

Saga of endless plight, is the story of sand.
