Cine -Symposia

BA (Multimedia & Mass Communication) and BA (Film, TV & New Media

Production) under the guidance of IQAC conducted & Cine-Symposia  - A

National Level Webinars on various aspects of Indian Cinema from 22nd

May to 26th May 2020.



Prof. B.P. Sinha - Head, Centre for English Studies and Dean, School of

Languages, Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi (Retd.) was the

Resource Person for Day 1 (22nd May) of the webinar. He spoke about

Tribes and their interpretation in Indian Cinema. He gave everyone a

good overview of the tribes that exist in India and narrated his personal

experiences from the making of his own Tribal film. Having

authored over 20 books, he is a man of immense experience and the

same was reflected in the webinar where all the attendees learnt

something new about our Tribes and how they are portrayed in Cinema.

Mr. Gaurav Mishra - Architect, Masters of Architectural Conservation

was the Resource Person for Day 2 (23rd May).



 He spoke about The portrayal of Monuments in India Cinema. The session was quite

enlightening as he gave many examples of how various films have used

monuments according to the tone, colours and other aspects of the

movie and how these monuments are often recreated for period dramas.

Having worked on sites like Asiatic Society and Chandigarh High Court,

he even spoke about Architectural Conservation and its importance.

Mr. Bharatt Shitole - Founder and Creative Head of BHU Productions

was the Resource Person for the 3rd Day (26th May) of the webinar

series. Having worked for over 18 years in the entertainment industry, he

has amassed massive experience and he has won a National Award for

his Documentary film. He spoke on the topic Lockdown and Film

Making. He explained about various types of shots that are used in films

and what kind of effect they provide to the audience. He also spoke

about the people who have inspired him and what valuable lessons he

has learnt from them. He concluded by giving students various tips on

film making.
