Dear Diary,
I write again today. I know I sound goofy at times, but I was conceived in the mind of someone who took due care and diligence to mold me into who I am. Every year, I welcome new people into my home who soon become my family, and like each member of a family, each member of CortoKino has a majorly significant role in bringing our event to fruition. Can infertile soil breed plants of dreams and ambitions? Probably if it is cared for with the most delicate hands covered in the calluses of experience. The three things that make you an important bolt in the machine of life are: talent, ability, resilience, or potential.
Months of hard work and toiling ease into the culmination of joy and happiness, of having carried forward another year of a sacred legacy—these months determine not only the success of the festival, but I say, “What did you achieve other than CortoKino itself?”. Friends, fun, success—yes, I love to smother you in all of that, but I want you to bloom into flowers whose fragrance brings to life- hope and learning. I swear and pledge each year to push forth the most talented bunch into positions where they can exhibit their skills and help others grow. Today was that day, when I welcomed new successors to our home. My future leaders' filmy glory, a small start to their big story. Ek Sub-head ki zarurat, tum kya jaano Ramesh Babu? And so, I got more hugs than ever today, and now, on my comforting couch, I lie like a potato. I know I should not ignore 'a whole new world...' playing in the background, but I am a mush now, remembering all the smiles I saw today. The ink on your pages is now stained with my tears of happiness, but the twilight shines brighter than ever, and I am giddy. In the language of one of my teachers, “Guji Guji ho rahi hai.”.
Coursing through the captivating world of cinema...
Yours Truly,
Kino.
P.S. There's always more movies to watch!
